Welcome to the new site of ReddingsHondenGroep Solferino

ReddingsHondenGroep Solferino was founded on January 24, 2001 and is affiliated to the International Organisation Rettungshunde.

Where does the name Solferino come from?

Solferino is not only the name of our rescue group, but Solferino is also the name of an Italian village in the province of Mantua, and is located south of Lake Garda.

During the Battle of Solferino in 1859 drew the night nurses went on the battlefields to search for wounded soldiers. They found that dogs could be important in finding victims. In response, the Red Cross in 1864 formally established. So here are the roots of the rescue work with dogs and therefore we felt it appropriate to name our ReddingsHondenGroep (Dog Rescue Group) Solferino.

RHG Solferino aims to jointly train rescue teams on a appropriate method for dog and handler to achieve the required certificates.

After these combinations gained the necessary experience the combinations of dog and handler can participate at national and international competitions.

To keep abreast of developments and training methods we follow regular courses and seminars at home and abroad.
